What is the Kansas Sustainable Agricultural District #001

Kansas Sustainable Agriculture District #001 was formally incorporated by the Kingman county commission on February 7, 2022, in response to a petition signed by 41 Kingman county landowners.

The District is a “rural improvement district” within the meaning of Kansas law which is empowered to issue tax-free revenue bonds to finance a plant for the production of biomethane (a.k.a. “renewable natural gas (RNG)”) pursuant to K.S.A. 19-2775. The bonds do not impose a lien on any land or tax revenues but only on the biomethane plant itself and its revenues.
